South India Mission 2005
The “Three Percent” is growing - South India is a society where the
predominant religion is Hindu. Only three percent are counted to be
Christians. The government leaders are Hindu and in fact have temples
inside their government buildings. Throughout the city streets and along
their rivers they have large and small idols housed in varying sizes of
structures. The statues are literally everywhere. They are generally very
elaborate. An idol maker can have a steady living.
We are covering large areas of rural villages in our mission travels. Our
first week is not quite over and we are astounded at the fruit. We have
visited more than 30 churches and had a church service in each one. We
have led more than 400 people to Jesus throughout these church visits. A
number of these conversions have been one person at a time during a home
visit and it seems each church has between 2 and 40 people come forward.
The family of God making up the three percent is growing.

There is much poverty and need within the
lowest class of downtrodden peoples. These are generally the Christians.
The downtrodden caste of people readily embrace Christianity. The
environmental health of this place is enough to make you faint and we do
see many medical problems. Pastor Ernie and I have prayed individually for
at least 1300 people so far.
This mission field is as
ripe as one can be. The people are ready to hear about Jesus. They are the
warmest, most hospitable people you will encounter. We are excited to see
what adventure will be around the next corner.
Contact us if you'd like to carry the gospel to the rural villages
of India.
We have many more pictures and
would like to come to your church to show
them and tell the story of evangelism in India. Invite us.

Imagine with me that I have suddenly lost my entire
family and everything I possess. This is the fate of more than six million
children and adults devastated by the recent tsunami disaster. They have lost
everything—their possessions, their homes, food and clean water. Most
tragically, they have lost precious friends and loved ones. More than 155,000
people died in the affected areas, and the death toll continues to rise as tens
of thousands remain missing. For the millions who are displaced and grieving,
life will never be the same.
In the midst of this devastation, our cfdmin workers are laboring tirelessly to
bring not only physical aid, but—most of all—the hope of Jesus. These men and
women are already in the Tsunami areas, reaching out to their own people with
God’s love and compassion.
And
each time our cfdmin workers deliver little water, food, clothing and
medicine lack of sufficient funds, they also provide literature which shares
God’s Good News of hope in Jesus. A listening ear and counsel from God’s Word
are offered to traumatized victims as well.
Right now, your gift of $100 will provide comfort and relief
supplies to a family as they rebuild their lives with food and Family Survival
Kits containing clean water, blankets, and tarps to survivors of the tsunami.
And one hundred percent of your donation will go directly to relief efforts for
the tsunami victims.
